After 300 years the ever so wicked Sanderson sisters are returning, just in time for Halloween!

We’re kidding! Well, kind of… It hasn’t really been 300 years, more like 29 years as the long-awaited sequel to 1993’s Hocus Pocus is set to arrive on Disney+ on 30 September 2022.

Disney announced the news on Tuesday (17 May) at an event to promote its upcoming content.

“We’re back!”

The film will see the 1993 classic’s original stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy reprise their roles as Winnifred, Sarah, and Mary respectively.

As reported by People Magazine, a sneak-peek of the film has also been shown off showing the three sisters singing Sir Elton John’s ‘The Bitch Is Back’ (how fitting!) as well as Doug Jones’ return. He will also be reprising his role from the original film of the zombie, Billy Butcherson.

The clip also showed the Black Flame Candle being lit once again and Midler’s Winnifred screeching: “Lock up your children!” followed by “Yes, Salem, we’re back!” as the Sanderson sisters make their return.

The first film saw the Sanderson Sisters inadvertently resurrected by a teenage boy in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween night.

The sequel will see the same happen again and the child-hungry witches will once again have to be stopped from wreaking havoc.

It was confirmed in January by producer Adam Shankman that filming had wrapped.
