Andrew Scott wins Style and Culture prize at Attitude Awards

Andrew Scott has won the Style and Culture prize at the Attitude Awards 2014.

The gay actor – who posed for the cover of Attitude’s recent Style Issue – won the award following his star turn as sensitive Gethin in feel-good Brit-flick Pride, and for his on-point fashion choices on the red carpet.

Scott was presented with his award by Sherlock creator Mark Gatiss at tonight’s (October 13) star-studded awards ceremony at Banqueting House in Whitehall, London which is being hosted by Scissor Sisters star Ana Matronic.

The 37-year-old is also known for playing the villainous Moriarty opposite Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in the BBC’s Sherlock.

Speaking to Attitude about starring in Pride, he said that he knew “from the beginning” that it was going to be “really, really special”.

“I knew it was going to attract good actors to play those parts, because it’s really hard to find a film that’s entertaining, hilarious and moving, and the fact that it’s a true story is unbelievable.”
