Julien Macdonald has been named Style Hero, supported by Renault, at this year’s Attitude Awards.

The Welsh fashion designer and Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model judge was awarded an OBE in 2006 for services to fashion.

Over the years, his creations have been worn by a host of big-name stars including Naomi Campbell, Geri Halliwell, Jessie J, Carmen Electra, Dame Shirley Bassey, Selena Gomez, Joely Richardson and Beyoncé.

The 43-year-old also took part in last year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing, where he made it to week four alongside his dance partner Janette Manrara.

Macdonald was presented with his award by interior design guru Kelly Hoppen at tonight’s star-studded awards ceremony at Banqueting House in Whitehall, London, which is being hosted by Scissor Sisters star Ana Matronic.
