Ben Platt and Noah Galvin announce they’re engaged

Dear Evan Hansen and Pitch Perfect star Ben Platt has announced he is engaged to his partner, Noah Galvin

Posting on Instagram on Friday (25 November) Platt, 29, shared images of a romantic candle-lit proposal, a ring, and cute shots of the couple huddled together and celebrating.

In the caption, he wrote: “he agreed to hang out forever”.

The news has been met with congratulations from many including Drag Race‘s Michelle Visage whose excitement was clear in, “OMG OMG OMG! CONGRATS TO YOU BOTH”

Deaf actor, model, and former Attitude cover star Nyle DiMarco added: “So cute! Congratulations,” while Cheyenne Jackson posted a number of heart-eyed emoji faces.

Sharing almost the exact same set of images, Noah Galvin, 28, wrote: “I saw yeehaw and then cried for like 7 hours”.

Noah is an American actor and singer who’s appeared on The Good Doctor and The Real O’Neals. he notably took over the titular role in the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen after Platt’s departure. Platt originated the role.

The two announced their relationship in May 2020. Galvin told the Little Known Facts with Illana Levine podcast: “Ben and I are dating,” adding, “It’s still relatively new.”

In September 2021 Ben Platt spoke to Out magazine about his relationship with Galvin, describing him as “a partner that I really love,” before explaining how he helped him beat the “fear and apprehension” he felt over reprising his Dear Evan Hansen role in the film adaptation.
