Björn Ulvaeus is open to do a third Mamma Mia! movie if it’s the right idea.
Back in 2008, the world went mad for the movie adaptation of the stage musical based around the songs from Swedish pop group ABBA.
The film featured a stellar cast including Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgard, Julie Walters, Christine Baranski, Colin Firth and Dominic Cooper and became an international success.
Last year, fans were delighted when the sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was released and saw the return of the original cast with the added glam of Cher.
Now, fans are anticipating the next story and many of the cast have said they are open to return to the film franchise but ABBA star, Ulvaeus revealed he doubts there will be a third movie but teases if the story is right, he will be up for it.
While speaking on Magic Radio, Ulvaeus said: “I doubt that very much, but I probably said after the first film that there won’t be a second.
“So, you never know. But, you know, why we did the second film was that [Ol] Parker and Richard Curtis came up with this idea and that’s why we did it.
“So, if someone comes up with an idea for Mamma Mia! 3 you know I’ll have a look at it. We’ll have a look at it.”
