Adam Lambert has joined the cast of the new animated-live action movie Playmobil: The Movie.

The former Attitude cover star has joined the likes of Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, Meghan Trainor, Anya Taylor-Joy, Gabriel Bateman and Jim Gaffigan and has been announced to play the villain Emperor Maximus.

Lambert will also be recording an original song for the movie.

The film will follow the adventures of siblings Charlie (Bateman) and Marla (Taylor-Joy). When Charlie disappears into the animated universe of Playmobil, his sister must go on a quest to bring him home.

While journeying through the Playmobil land, Marla meets some unlikely friends including food truck driver Del (Gaffigan), secret agent Rex Dasher (Radcliffe), robot and fairy-godmother (Trainor).

But her quest to save her brother will try to be stopped by the evil Emperor Maximus.

The script has been written by Blaise Hemingway, Greg Erb and Jason Oremland and the film – which is slated for release next year – will be helmed by Disney veteran Lino DiSalvo.
