Adam Lambert’s upcoming fourth album isn’t ‘genre-specific’
The American Idol star has opened up about new music exclusively to Attitude

Adam Lambert’s new album isn’t going to be “genre-specific”.
The American Idol star is back in the UK for a tour with Queen but being part of one of the biggest and iconic bands in the world, the openly gay singer hasn’t let that stop him from recording his own music.
And In an exclusive interview with Attitude, Adam revealed his new album has been influenced by a number of music genres and he dubbed it a “fusion”.
He said: “I don’t think this album is genre-specific.
“I don’t think you can stick it in a box. That’s dangerous. I think there are a lot of different influences on it.
“There’s rock, there’s punk, there’s soul, there’s disco. There’s sort of Seventies singer-songwriter pop and some Eighties flavours, too.
“That being said, there are lot of modern influences as well, so it’s sort of a fusion.”
Of course, stepping into the shoes of Freddie Mercury for the upcoming tour – which kicks off this July – Queen have had a major influence on his musical styles.
“Obviously Queen really inspired me,” he added.
“There are some things about the Seventies and Eighties that I really love but more than ever I think I’m just influenced by my favourites, by the people who made me want to make music in the first place.”
