And Adam Rippon wins Best Dressed at the 2018 Oscars.
Gay figure skater Adam Rippon stunned at the 90th Academy Awards last night (March 4) for wearing a leather harness.
Rippon, who won bronze at the Winter Olympics, made a statement after making his red carpet debut at the Oscars alongside fellow figure skater Mirai Nagasu.
The athlete wore a leather harness under his tuxedo along with cutouts at the shoulder and a shiny, leather bow tie.
The outfit was designed by Jeremy Scott, the creative director of Moschino, who shared a snap of himself with Rippon and Nagasu on Saturday (March 3) and hinted that Rippon would be on the red carpet “slaying in Moschino”.
Rippon teased the S&M inspired look ahead of the event by sharing a selfie on his Instagram story and writing “Just something casual”.
The 28-year-old also stormed the 2018 Winter Olympics last month after he became one of the first openly gay athletes to compete and used his platform to promote LGBT equality and take a stand against Mike Pence.
During the Winter Olympics, Rippon developed a close relationship with fellow Olympian Gus Kenworthy and revealed last month that the pressures of figure skating left him starving himself.
Meanwhile, the athlete made an appearance on The Ellen Show and revealed he had been “sleeping on” Shawn Mendes.
