Anderson Cooper has offered insight into his unconventional co-parenting situation with former-boyfriend Benjamin Maisani.
The news anchor and his ex welcomed baby Wyatt nine months ago – and although they’re separated, they live as a trio in the US.
And according to the veteran TV star, the arrangement is “weird – but it works.”
“He wasn’t sure if he really wanted to have a kid, which is one of the reasons we probably broke up”
“We actually still live in the same house,” Anderson explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week. “We get along really well. It’s weird, but it works out.
“It’s interesting – he wasn’t sure if he really wanted to have a kid, which is one of the reasons we probably broke up.
“But then he came around to the idea and now he’s just such a great parent.”
The 53-year-old then explained: “We went to take Wyatt to get the regular vaccinations that kids get – he hasn’t skipped the line for Covid or anything! – and Wyatt doesn’t cry when he gets his shot.
“I turned round when Wyatt was getting his first shot and Benjamin was just weeping! He’s become this big softie.”
Anderson’s journey into fatherhood followed close friend Andy Cohen’s; the Watch What Happens Live star became a dad in 2019 to son Ben.
