The Heart of Hollywood Tour premieres at London’s The O2 on June 21. The ‘H’ from the original iconic Hollywood sign, one-of-a-kind memorabilia and artwork celebrating the Golden Age of Hollywood will be at the venue for four weeks – the first time they will have been seen outside of USA.
The tour is an unforgettable experience for movie and music lovers of all ages – a chance to experience the history and glamour of Hollywood first-hand.
The exhibition will offer a glimpse of some of the greatest iconography from the past 100 years of film and music, from the Beatle’s original drum kit to Clarke Gable’s suit from Gone with the Wind.
At the epicentre of the experience is the symbol of Hollywood, the ‘H’ from the original Hollywood sign. The 27-day event is expected to attract more than 75,000 people to London’s leading entertainment venue, before embarking on a 60-city, five-year global tour.
As darkness falls in London, the Hollywood Nights show will light up the ‘H’ with an unforgettable projection show of the greatest moments from the past 100 years of film.
This will form a backdrop to spectacular musical theatre tributes to some of the best-loved musicals in Hollywood’s history, directed by internationally-acclaimed creative director and choreographer Nathan Clarke.
Attractions at the Heart of Hollywood Tour include:
The ‘H’ from the Hollywood sign
The centrepiece of the show is the original letter ‘H’ from the iconic Hollywood sign, known globally as the entertainment industry trademark.
This is its first appearance in public for 40 years. Visitors can follow in the footsteps of Hollywood greats like Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne and Charlie Chaplin who touched the sign for good luck.
At 45-feet tall and weighing 95 tons, the ‘H’ stands taller than four London double decker busses. It can even be seen from space!
Hollywood Memorabilia Exhibition
Get up close and personal with some of Hollywood famous items from the owner of the sign Bill Mack’s private collection.
The impressive exhibition features items including Elvis Presley’s stage suits, a signed fedora from Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe’s dresses and jewellery and Christopher Reeve’s Superman costume, as well as Beatles memorabilia and costumes from The Wizard of Oz.
Hollywood Art Gallery
An exclusive exhibition of the artwork of respected sculptor and artist Bill Mack.
Artworks include original paintings of Hollywood starlets using the metal of the sign as his canvas, along with some personal effects from the subject including Marilyn Monroe’s hair and Judy Garland’s dress.
