Ariana Grande has debuted the music video for her new single Break Free.

The clip, clearly influenced by classic 1960s sci-fi film Barbarella, finds Grande breaking out of a prison in space, before leading a mini-rave on a spaceship which features what could be the first ever gay alien kiss in a music video.

Break Free, produced by Grammy-winning Lady Gaga collaborator Zedd, was released last week and is currently sitting in the top ten on UK iTunes. The track will feature alongside Grande’s recent UK Number One smash Problem on her new album My Everything, which is due for release on August 25.

The album is her follow-up to last year’s Yours, Truly, which debuted at number seven in the UK and spawned the US hit single The Way.

The former Nickelodeon star told Attitude recently that she has sampled a classic gay anthem on her new album – click here to find out which one it is.

Meanwhile, Grande recently defended her out gay brother against a homophobic slur on Instagram – take a look at her sassy response here.
