Arthur accepts Stonewall invite: ‘They’ll teach me some things’
By Sam Rigby
James Arthur has accepted Stonewall’s invitation to meet youth volunteers after he used an anti-gay slur last year.
On Monday (July 28), the X Factor winner said that he wanted to partner up with the LGB charity to “right” the “wrong” he committed last year when he used the term “f**king queer” in a Twitter argument with underground rapper Micky Worthless. Read the full story here.
Stonewall’s new CEO responded to Arthur’s posts by suggesting he could meet volunteers who tackle homophobia in schools. Read his response below:
@ruth_hunt @stonewalluk I would be very happy to that Ruth. I’m sure they do great work and could hopefully teach me a thing or two. Chk dms

Arthur drew widespread criticism for using the anti-gay slur towards the end of last year – with Matt Lucas, Frankie Boyle and his fellow X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan all calling him out publicly on Twitter.
Arthur was dropped from Simon Cowell’s Syco label in June following his controversial behaviour. Over the weekend, the singer also told fans that he may go simply by the name of “Arthur” when he next releases music in a bid to make a fresh start.
