By Joshua Haigh
Attitude’s Bachelors of Year 2017 is brought to you in association with Blued.Jeffrey WammesBachelor of the Year position: #16
Wham, bam thank you flying Dutchman. Jeffrey is a gymnast from the Netherlands who recovered from an accident in 2006 — breaking both ankles — then went on to win a clutch of medals for his country. He specialises in floor exercises and vaults. Can we play leapfrog?
How long have you been a bachelor?
I’ve been a bachelor for about 3 years now after a relationship of 5 years ended.
What was your coming out experience like?
Around 20 my close friends knew, and more and more were getting to know about it, then one of the biggest magazines in Holland came to me asking if i wanted to come out on their cover. So i did! Everybody knew and that was is haha.
The reaction was quite good. The guys in my gymnastics gym already knew about it and a couple of them were my good friends so i got lucky!
What are the top three qualities you look for in a man?
1. good humor (sarcastic) 2. cute-looking 3. sexually compatible/really into each other.
Best date you’ve ever been on?
The best date for me is just simple, dinner and a movie.
…and the worst?
When the other guy talks a lot and there’s no chemistry.
What’s your favourite part of a man’s body?
A guy’s back, when it’s smooth and athletic.
Biggest deal-breaker?
Really bad breath.
Do you have an *ahem* ‘three date rule’?
Not really. If the *ahem* is not good then why have a 2nd, 3rd date?
Who’s your celebrity crush?
Zac Efron
What’s your hidden talent?
I was always so busy with gymnastics that i think i did not really develop another talent … I’m a good kisser.
