Is she an artiste? Erm… let’s not answer that and instead say that Jennifer Lopez can sell a decent pop song the way that G-A-Y can sell £1.70 drinks on a Thursday night. Here are her Top Ten tunes as voted for by the staff at Attitude HQ.
10. If You Had My Love
J.Lo’s debut single was a huuuge US chart-topper. Start the way you mean to go on and all that.

9. Papi
Taken from her album Love?, Papi is a Latin-flavoured dance banger produced by Gaga collaborator RedOne. The video sees the singer eat a mysterious “love cookie”, only to end up being chased by every man in L.A. Only J.Lo, eh?
8. On The Floor
After the commercial disappointment of 2007’s Brave album, J.Lo returned to the charts four years later with her most successful single ever, which reached Number One in over 20 countries. On The Floor also marked the beginning of a long and not always lovely professional relationship with rapper Pitbull.

7. Love Don’t Cost a Thing
La Lopez nailed the early noughties R&B sound with the lead single from her second album J.Lo, resulting in one of her signature hits. The braids she rocked in the video have aged rather less well than the song, tbh.

6. Waiting For Tonight
This track earned J.Lo her first Grammy nomination, and feels a bit like a Latino-laced version of Kylie’s dance smash On A Night Like This. I.e. amazing.

5. Jenny from the Block
Jenny loves to talk about her roots, and this sort-of-humble song sort-of-became her signature hit when it was released as a single in 2002. The video features her ex-boyfriend Ben Affleck, who later claimed that his appearance in the clip “almost ruined his career”.

4. Get Right
The lead single from 2005’s Rebirth album marked a slight change in J.Lo’s sound: it was harder, and saxier, basically. On its release, it shot straight to Number One in the UK.

3. Dance Again
Released as the lead single from her 2011 Greatest Hits collection, Dance Again marked J.Lo’s third collaboration with rapper Pitbull. The song describes her desire to dance and love (and then dance again, obviously), and apparently explains how she survived her divorce from Marc Anthony.

2. Ain’t It Funny (Spanish Mix)
This Latin-flavoured pop song was a smash in the UK – but never got released in the US. Instead, our American friends were treated to a remix featuring a load of rent-a-rappers that made Number One there despite being about 42% as good.

1. Play
If you don’t like this song, you don’t like dance-pop music. Play was released in 2001 and instantly became one of J.Lo’s most well-known hits. It was co-written by R&B singer Christina Milian, who actually sings on its chorus. “I just wanna dance. Is that a crime?” HELL NO.
