Australian model Ruby Rose has joined the cast of Orange Is the New Black.
The 28-year-old – who identifies as gender-fluid – told the new issue of Elle that she’s set to appear in the hit Netflix show’s upcoming third season as a ‘lust object of both Alex and Piper’.
Netflix confirmed that Rose will take on the role of Stella Carlin, “whose sarcastic sense of humor and captivating looks quickly draw the attention of some of Litchfield’s inmates.”
After the news was confirmed on Twitter, Rose tweeted to the show’s official account: “Thank you so much my friends… What an amazing family at that!!! I’m very very honored.”
Of her androgynous looks, Rose said last year: “I am very gender fluid and feel more like I wake up every day sort of gender neutral.”
Filming for the third season of Orange Is the New Black is currently underway ahead of an expected premiere later this year, while Lori Petty is rumoured to be returning to the show as Lolly – click here to find out more.
