‘Back To The Future’ musical heading to London’s West End

A musical adaptation of Back To The Future will open in London’s West End in 2015.

The director and the writer of the original 1985 movie and its two sequels, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, intend for the musical to open in the film’s 30th anniversary year.

Alan Silvestri, who composed the score for all of the Back To The Future films, will collaborate with Glen Ballard on original music for the production.

Meanwhile, other songs in the show will include The Power Of Love by Huey Lewis And The News, Jonny B. Goode by Chuck Berry, Earth Angel by The Penguins,and Pat Ballard’s Mr Sandman.

Director Jamie Lloyd and producer Colin Ingram will also work on the project.

Two workshops are set to take place in Los Angeles and London through July and August, ahead of the musical’s opening next year.

Michael J. Fox starred as Marty McFly in all three of the Back To The Future films, which were released in 1985, 1989 and 1990.
