Bette Midler has launched her own sex and love Agony Aunt column

By Will Stroude

Having spent the last few weeks taking on Justin Bieber and petitioning Disney bosses for a Hocus Pocus sequel, the legendary Bette Midler is taking on a new challenge: sex and love columnist for the masses.

The 69-year-old surprised fans this weeks after revealing that she’s going to serve as their very own agony aunt with the launch of her brand new column ‘Ask Miss M’ (and render therapists across the land redundant in the process).

Promising to answer questions on life, love and sex using her “decades of wisdom, experience and meddling”, the award-winning icon announced her new sideline on Twitter on Wednesday (November 18), urging fans to send her their problems and questions with the hashtag #AGiftOfLove.

“Need more Q&A? Introducing the ASK MISS M column to the online stratosphere,” she wrote, alongside a launch announcement which referencing one of her most famous quotes: “Cherish forever what makes you unique, ‘cuz you’re really a yawn if it goes.”

Midler’s new turn as a sex columnist coincides with her newest musical release, an 18-track collection of love songs from throughout her career titled A Gift Of Love. It’s out on Friday December 4. We must say, as promotional tactics go, offering to solve your fans’ bedroom dilemmas is pretty innovative. With Adele’s 25 released today and sure to swallow up most of the pre-Christmas CD sales, a diva’s gotta think outside the box!
