Billy Eichner has hit out at Matt Damon for his use of the word “f****t”.
The term has been used as a slur to describe gay men since the 1920s – although Damon claims in a new interview it had a “different application” when he was a child.
Speaking in a new interview, Stillwater actor Damon then revealed he was still using the word as recently as “months ago” – prompting Eichner to take to Twitter to publicly criticise the star.
“You’re still allowed to be homophobic in this fake-woke industry”
“I want to know what word Matt Damon has replaced f****t with,” The Lion King actor said, before sharing a story about Damon’s comments and adding: “Imagine this headline about any other derogatory ethnic/racial/religious etc slur being used in 2021.
I want to know what word Matt Damon has replaced f****t with.

“People would be up in arms and rightfully so. But you’re still allowed to be homophobic in this fake-woke industry. HAPPY PRIDE!!!”
Damon’s remarks to The Times in full were: “The word that my daughter calls the ‘f-slur for a homosexual’ was commonly used when I was a kid, with a different application. I made a joke, months ago, and got a treatise from my daughter. She left the table. I said, ‘Come on, that’s a joke! I say it in the movie Stuck on You!’ She went to her room and wrote a very long, beautiful treatise on how that word is dangerous. I said, ‘I retire the f-slur!’ I understood.”
Eichner’s tweet follows another from last week in which he addressed rapper DaBaby’s recent comments about gay men and people with HIV (“I’ll tell ya this – DA BABY has disappointed me for the last time.”)
