Blondie’s Debbie Harry on sexuality: ‘I like men’
By Sam Rigby
Debbie Harry has addressed her sexuality in a new interview.
Many publications have reported that the Blondie singer recently came out as bisexual, but Harry has clarified that she has only experimented with women a few times.
Asked by MOJO magazine if she had sexual experiences with women during her years in Greenwich Village, she said: “Gee, I can’t remember (grins).
“No, I don’t think I had experiences with women at that point. I haven’t had a lot of experiences with women, but I’ve tried.
“It was more in modern times. Probably in the ’80s. Y’know, everything went to shit in the ’80s. But I like men, I’m a fool (laughs).”
In a recent interview, Harry said that she has found women to be “more sensual”.
She also described Russia’s anti-gay laws as “barbaric and idiotic”, after refusing to play a gig in Sochi earlier this year.
