Bobbi Kristina Brown has died at the age of 22.
A family representative confirmed that the daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston passed away on Sunday (July 26) surrounded by friends and family.
Brown was found unresponsive in a bathtub on January 31 and was placed in a medically induced coma and put on life support. She failed to regain consciousness and was moved to a hospice facility on June 24 after her condition deteriorated.
The family shared a photo of Bobbi Kristina with her mother on the website whitneyhouston.com, along with the following statement:
“It is hard to say goodbye. On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully. The family thanks everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers. As Bobbi Kristina would say: ‘The wind is behind me and the sun is in my face.'”
The young star’s death tragically mirrors that of her mother, who was found dead in the bathtub of an LA hotel in February 2012 after suffering a drug overdose.
A representative for the family said in a statement: “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July 26 2015, surrounded by her family.
“She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
