Bradley Cooper is being lined up to play iconic action hero Indiana Jones, Latino Review is reporting.

According to the website’s source, a fifth Indiana Jones film starring Harrison Ford is still in the planning stages. However, should a certain period of time past without any substantial development, makers Disney will go ahead with a reboot starring Cooper instead.

Walt Disney chairman Alan Horn told Variety in December that there are still no concrete plans for a fifth instalment in the much-loved franchise, saying:  “We haven’t done anything. We don’t have a story. We need a story.”

The last film to be released in the popular franchise was 2008’s Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which starred Ford alongside Shia LaBeouf. The film was met with mostly positive reviews, and became the highest grossing film in the series, making almost $800m (£480m) worldwide.

Disney and Bradley Cooper have yet to comment on the rumours.
