Brian Friedman talks love and marriage
By Nick Bond
Creative director, dancer and choreographer Brian Friedman opens up about his relationship with partner Daniel Brown in Attitude’s second-ever Love & Marriage commemorative special issue, out now.
Friedman, know for his work as creative director of The X Factor UK, The X Factor USA and America’s Got Talent, tells Attitude it was being stood up by none other than X Factor winner Alexandra Burke that helped him meet the love of his life.
“I was in West Hollywood to meet Alexandra Burke for dinner with a friend, but she was stuck in the studio, so we went to The Abbey instead,” he says.
“I also went out to meet some friends, but they never showed up so… At the end of the night I was leaving and I heard these guys shouting at me,” continues Brown.
‘These guys’ were Brian and his friend (“I was immediately taken and started shouting at him!” Brian admits) – and the rest, as they say, is history.
From that chance meeting, the pair have been practically inseparable ever since.
“He was pretty much at my house every single day. He did keep his place for three years, though,” says Brian.
“After three years I thought we’d be together and get married at some point,” Daniel confesses.
And that’s exactly what they’re now planning – although you’ll have to pick up the magazine to find out what they’ve got planned…
Alongside Daniel and Brian’s in-depth interview, Attitude’s Love & Marriage issue also features plenty of other love-themed content, from profiles of everyday, real-life gay couples who’ve tied the knot to guides on every aspect of your big day.
