Britney Spears, Iggy Azalea single ‘co-written by Little Mix’

Little Mix have reportedly had a hand in writing the upcoming single from Britney Spears.

The X Factor girl group are said to have penned the track titled ‘Pretty Girls’ – which features Iggy Azalea – but decided against using it for their forthcoming third studio album.

“This is a huge coup for Little Mix. The song is really brilliant but the lyrics just didn’t end up fitting well with their own record,” a source told The Sun. But Britney loved it and wanted to pick it up for her own album as soon as she heard it.

“It’s amazing for them that Britney has decided to release it as her comeback single — and perfect timing given they’re about to release their third album. This will really help their profile in America.”

The report comes just weeks after the track was registered online, with the four Little Mix Girls and Iggy receiving credits alongside Grammy-nominated songwriting and music production trio, The Invisible Men, who where responsible for the Australian rapper’s hit single ‘Fancy’.

At the time, Iggy clarified that the track wasn’t “affiliated with Little Mix”, explaining that she had not “collaborated with them”. She first teased a single with Britney late last year.

Earlier this week, Britney said that her ninth studio album is “not my full priority right now”.
