Britney Spears shoots down Millie Bobby Brown’s biopic casting dream
“I hear about people wanting to do movies about my life … dude I’m not dead!!!” Britney shared on social media.
It doesn’t seem Britney Spears is too keen on Millie Bobby Brown’s idea of wanting to play her in a biopic
The 18-year-old Stranger Things actor was on The Drew Barrymore show on Monday (7 November) speaking about her new film, Netflix’s Enola Holmes 2, when she announced she would love to play the Toxic hitmaker.
The actor says Britney’s story resonates with her own, Brown was just 11 years old when she was thrust into the spotlight as Eleven in Stranger Things.
“Just growing up, watching her videos, watching interviews of her when she was younger — I see the scramble for words and I don’t know her, but when I look up pictures of her I feel like I could tell her story in the right way and hers only,” says Brown.
Following Brown’s comments, Britney posted an image of an ornate door on Instagram and the caption seemed to directly shoot down the young actor’s casting ambition.
“I hear about people wanting to do movies about my life … dude I’m not dead !!!” the 40-year-old pop star wrote.
From Elton John’s Rocketman to Freddie Mercury’s Bohemian Rhapsody, pop star biopics are having quite the moment – yet, evidently, Spears isn’t looking for her life story to be projected onto the big screen.
Elsewhere in the post, Britney addressed the conservatorship she was under for 12 years until 2021: “Still breathing… it’s funny the same two people who gave me life are the same exact 2 people who took it away… but guess what!!! I’m alive and I’m breathing again!!”
“Either way … I just want to say hi and share these fabulous doors!!! I did kinda post too much this week … I’m embarrassed!!! I get it … oh well!!! Have a good day!!!” she added.
The post also addressed that she felt “embarrassed” by the Instagram posts she’d shared this week.
In early posts, Britney shared she has suffered from irreparable “nerve damage on the right side of my body”.
“I wake up like 3 times a week in bed and my hands are completely numb … nerves are tiny and it feels like pins and needles from the right side of my body it shoots up to my neck and the part that hurts the worst is my temple on my head … it stings and it’s scary,” the singer added, noting she is “getting a lot better.”
