Naomi Campbell’s modelling series The Face has reportedly been axed by Sky Living after just one series.

The series – which also featured models Erin O’Connor and Caroline Winberg – only attracted 132,000 viewers for its first episode, which aired on the channel last September.

A show insider told Metro: “The show is an expensive one to make and there were also difficulties with Naomi’s availability.

“She’s too busy all the time so it was becoming impossible to fit it into her life. Bosses didn’t want to give the show another try without Naomi, so decided to scrap it completely.”

The cancellation comes a year after Sky Living axed Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model after nine years on air.

“The model show fad has run out of steam. People aren’t interested in anymore,” the source added.

Sky Living is currently airing the 20th cycle of America’s Next Top Model, which features male models for the first time. The series airs on Thursdays at 9pm.
