She was one of the biggest female hip-hop stars of the late ’90s and early noughties, but Lil’ Kim looks completely unrecognisable in her latest pictures.
The Lady Marmalade star, real name Kimberly Jones, shocked fans this morning as she took to Instagram to show off her dramatic new look, which includes bleach blonde hair and pale skin.
The look’s a far cry from her ’90s image, when she shot to fame as part of The Notirious B.I.G’s hip-hop group Junior M.A.F.I.A. and later as a solo artist with the release of 1996’s Hardcore.
The singer has become renowned for her dramatic image overhauls in the years since – in particular in 2012, when she unveiled a drastic new look after seemingly undergoing cosmetic surgery on her face and lightening her skin.
The 40 or possibly 41-year-old (sources vary), who released her most recent mixtape Lil Kim Season last month, also posted a few throwback images on the social media site shortly after, which demonstrate just how much her looks have changed in the last two decades.
