Celebs including Ellie Goulding and Lorde speak out over Natalia Kills
By Nick Bond
A raft of high profile celebrities have voiced their anger at singer Natalia Kills following her shocking outburst on live television.
Kills and her husband, Willy Moon, were quickly dumped from the New Zealand X Factor judging panel after berating a contestant live on air over the weekend. Kills accused contestant Joe Irvine of copying her husband’s style because he was wearing a suit, calling the clearly shaken performer “cheesy,” “disgusting” and “atrocious.”
Since then, neither have issued any apology for their comments, with Kills instead using social media to repeatedly thank fans for their “love” and welcome her “new followers.”
X Factor co-judge Mel Blatt was the first to express her anger at the pair, labelling Kills a “twat”:
Ive tried to keep my cool and stay professional but really @nataliakills ? Sorry love , you're a twat https://t.co/l2lIE21G99

The other judge on the panel, New Zealand R&B singer Stan Walker, also weighed in:
@NataliaKills U think its alright 2 champion urself in ur disgusting actions with no remorse 4 being a bully. Wake up man & humble urself.

Ellie Goulding shared her thoughts on the controversy in a series of tweets – one of which she’s since deleted (but we’ve got a screen grab):
Can't stop myself from commenting on NZ X factor situation because I can't stop thinking about how mean it was. Thank goodness they're gone

Kelly Osbourne accused Natalia Kills of being a copycat herself, pointing out the singer’s style is similar to that of British designer Hannah Marshall:
#NataliaKills is one to talk about originality especially when she stole her look from @HANNAH_MARSHALL! pic.twitter.com/hlLdM4sfps

Even Vincent Frank, aka Frankmusik, who collaborated with Kills on a song in 2011, expressed his disgust:

In a post on Facebook, Frank said he wished he “didn’t have her name anywhere near my work.”
The contestant at the centre of the scandal, Joe Irvine, has been feeling the celeb love, including a message of support from Ed Sheeran:

Kiwi singer Lorde sent him a box of cupcakes along with a handwritten note, encouraging him to “Keep being Joe.”

As for Willy Moon, the judge so perturbed by Joe wearing a suit he said he was scared the contestant would “stitch someone’s skin to your face and then kill everybody in the audience”? Here’s his sole public comment from the past 24 hours:
