Forget December 25, today is officially gay Christmas in Britain with the news that Cher is set to play her first UK tour dates in more than 14 years.

The legendary singer, who released her ultra-camp album of ABBA coversDancing Queen, in September, is set to bring her ‘Here We Go Again Tour’ to the UK with a series of five arena shows in October 2019.

The tour, which comes after Cher’s appearance in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again this summer, is set to swing by London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Leeds, as fans lap up classic hits like ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ alongside ABBA classics like ‘Waterloo’.

Cher’s last UK tour dates came in 2004 during ‘Living Proof: The Farewell Tour’, and in a statement the 72-year-old singer – a former London resident – described Britain as her “second home”.

“I’m very excited to bring this show to the UK,” Cher said.

“It was the first country to embrace Sonny & Cher, and its where we created and had our first success with ‘Believe’.

“It’s really my second home.”

Tickets for Cher’s ‘Here We Go Again Tour’ will go on sale this Friday (14 December) at 10am. Check out a full list of dates below:
