Cher has been dubbed “perfect” in a new online featurette ahead of the release of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
The iconic singer will be seen as Meryl Streep’s mother in the highly anticipated Mamma Mia sequel, which is slated for release this July, and just last week, Cher’s rendition of the ABBA classic ‘Fernando’ was released online.
But now, as part of the promotion for the upcoming film, a new featurette has been posted online and features the likes of Streep, Dame Julie Walters, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and director Ol Parker talking about Cher joining the movie.
During the featurette ABBA star Bjorn Ulvaeus dubs the singer “perfect” in her version of the classic song and says: “To hear her singing Fernando, she was perfect for that song.”
Benny Anderson – also of ABBA fame – says: “All of a sudden, you have Cher and ABBA together and it’s exciting.”
We seriously cannot wait to see this film and we already know it is going to be as successful as the first movie – which grossed more than $600 million around the world.
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is set for release on July 20.
