Cheryl Cole: ‘Cowell begged me to return to X Factor’
By Sam Rigby
Cheryl Cole has spoken about her decision to return to The X Factor this year.
The Call My Name singer joked on Daybreak this morning (March 12) that Simon Cowell ‘begged’ her to return to the show.
She said in her joint interview with Cowell: “There’s only so much begging one can take. It’s not nice to see a grown man cry, so I finally succumbed.”
Cole added that she has “great memories” of her last series on The X Factor in 2010, when she mentored acts such as Rebecca Ferguson and Cher Lloyd.
“We had so much fun and I think it feels like we’re starting again coming back,” she said of her relationship with Cowell.
Meanwhile, the X Factor boss apologised once again for the way he handled the Girls Aloud star’s time on The X Factor USA.
“I’ve done this a long time, you have fall outs along the way,” he said. “I held my hands up and said I made a mistake and I was sorry, and then when I decided I wanted to come back, I also decided I had to have Cheryl back on the show with me.”
