Classic Nickelodeon cartoon series to return on Netflix and will feature a trans character
'Rocko's Modern Life' hasn't aired a new episode since 1996

A classic Nickelodeon cartoon series is getting a one-off special on Netflix and will feature a trans character.
The animated Rocko’s Modern Life – which hasn’t aired a new episode since 1996 – will be arriving on the streaming giant for a 45-minute special and will reunite all the characters including Rock, Heffer and Filburt.
In the episode, which has been titled Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling, the characters go on a quest to track down Mr and Mrs Bighead’s son, Ralph, who went on a journey of self-discovery, Entertainment Weekly report.
But when they find the Bighead child, they learn she has transitioned and goes by the name of Rachel.
Series creator Joe Murray, who also voices Rachel, said: “I really started latching onto the idea of change and how society has changed and what’s going on in the last 20 years and the development of our characters and how they would react to change.
“It felt natural, because it was not only about change, about somebody finding who they are and making that courageous choice to go through that change.”
