Claudia Winkleman has been announced as Bruce Forsyth’s replacement on Strictly Come Dancing.
Winkleman will team-up with current host Tess Daly – marking the first time the popular show has been fronted by a female duo.
“I have loved Strictly since the second it appeared on our screens and I am honoured and thrilled to now be part of the Saturday night team,” said Winkleman in a press release yesterday (May 9).
She continued: “Working alongside Tess is always fantastic and I can’t wait to spend the weekends with her, our amazing dancers and the greatest judging panel on the planet. Sir Bruce is a living legend and we’ll all miss him very much.”
The 42-year-old presenter has hosted Strictly‘s BBC Two spin-off show It Takes Two for over six years, and has previously covered for Forsyth on the dance competition’s Sunday night results show on numerous occasions.
Sir Bruce Forsyth, 86, announced his departure from Strictly earlier this year after a ten-year stint hosting the show.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to the BBC this Autumn.
