It seems every iconic 1990s movie is getting a reboot of some kind and now, the latest victim to fall under Hollywood’s ongoing repetitive reboots is none other than 1995’s Clueless.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, CBS Television Studios is looking to reboot the classic 1990s movie – which starred Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz.
The original movie spawned a TV series starring Rachel Blanchard in the lead role which ran for three seasons on ABC and UPN.
But now, the new reboot – from writers Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey – will focus on Cher’s best friend and right-hand woman Dionne.
The story follows Dionne – played by Stacey Dash, who brought the character to life in the previous iterations – who has to take on the pressures of being the new most popular girl in school after Cher disappears.
Although not much else is known about the series, it has been described as Mean Girls meets Riverdale meets a Lizzo video.
