Colton Haynes comes to fan’s aid after collapse at UK comic book convention
He might be known for playing superhero Arsenal on The CW’s Arrow, but Colton Haynes turned real-life superhero an a British comic book convention last weekend.
The 27-year-old and his team reportedly came to the aid of a fan who collapsed after she suffered two seizures at the event in Birmingham on Sunday (May 15) – and has since been sending his well-wishes to the woman involved, who has now opened up about the incident.
“Luckily my sister-in-law was behind me and caught me,” 31-year-old Louise Dempsey told the Birmingham Mail. “I had two seizures in a row. I came out of one and went into another one. Colton was behind me and, at one point, he had his arms around me.”
Dempsey adds that Haynes told her to stay calm “He actually helped me up as well. They took my outside for some air and a guy who was with Colton came outside and helped me. There was a medical student also helping me. They calmed me down and made sure I was OK.”
Dempsey later thanked Haynes on Twitter, writing: “Thank you so much for all of your help when I had a seizure earlier seriously considering having you added to my tattoo as a thank you.”
And Haynes replied by saying, “I’m glad you’re OK! Sorry you had to go through that. Sending you a massive hug and well wishes.”

Dempsey also asked Haynes to thank Falk Hentschel, who plays Hawkman in DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow, for helping her too.
“I want to say thank you to Falk too,” she said. “I did not know he had helped as well until someone tweeted me. They are real heroes.”
