Colton Haynes will star in a new gay comedy series from the makers of Broad City.
The Arrow star, 31, is set to play a “famous Instagay” in I Run Hot, an upcoming AMC show from siblings Ilana and Eliot Glazer, Deadline reports.
According to Geadline, the show “follows the unlikely friendship between Eliot, a gay curmudgeon who never quite fit in with the community, and Colton, a famous #instagay who can’t help but exemplify it.”
Ilana Glazer, who was twice nominated for a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on Broad City, will direct and executive produce I Run Hot, while brother Eliot will write and executive produce the series as well as starring alongside Haynes.
Celebrating the news, Haynes wrote on Instagram: “Here we go!!! I am sooo excited to work with my boos @eliotglazer @ilana.”
Eliot, who is gay, added in a post on his own Instagram: “Started from the bottom now we’re queer.”
We don’t know about you, but a comedy series about the current landscape of the gay scene and queer social politics feel exactly what the TV world needs in 2020 – Lord knows there’s enough material…
