Conchita Wurst has denied rumours that she will be touring with Lady Gaga and appearing on the next series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Wurst, who has become a global LGBT icon after winning this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with her song Rise Like a Phoenix, had reportedly been lined up to support Lady Gaga on her artRAVE tour after impressing the Poker Face singer.

“I wish that was true,” said Wurst – real name Thomas Neuwirth – in an interview with The Observer today (July 6), confirming that the reports are false.

The Eurovision winner had also been rumoured to be taking part in the upcoming series of Celebrity Big Brother, but dismissed these reports too, insisting: “No! No, that’s a total rumour.”

Wurst headlined on the main stage at Pride in London last week, where she was introduced by Sir Ian McKellen. She recently spoke to attitude.co.uk and discussed what it was like to grow up feeling different in small-town Austria – click here to read the full interview.
