Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott to return in ‘AHS: Apocalypse’

The two characters played husband and wife in the first ever season of the hit anthology series

Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott have been confirmed to be in American Horror Story: Apocalypse.

The last time we saw Britton in the hit Ryan Murphy anthology was at the end of Murder House where her character Vivien Harmon and her family – including McDermott who played her husband Dr Ben Harmon – were decorating the house for Christmas after they all were tragically killed.

Now, according to Variety, the two actors are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming eighth season which is a crossover between the first season and Coven

Although not much is known about the plot of the series, we know that it will follow Michael Langdon – the child of Tate Langdon (Evan Peters) and Vivien (Britton) – who was last seen as a child child covered in the blood of his babysitter while under the care of his grandmother Constance Langdon (Jessica Lange) who adopted the demonic child at the end of season one Murder House.

Murphy revealed the Australian actor Cody Fern – who previously starred in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story – is set to play the adult version of the demonic child.

Actors Sarah Paulson and Peters, who appeared in both seasons, are known to be returning to the show this year.

Emma Roberts is set to reprise her role as Coven’s scene-stealing Madison Montgomery, the coke-addled Hollywood starlet and witch who tore through Miss Robichaux’s Academy like a telekinetic Regina George on steroids back in 2013.

Murphy recently confirmed the return of Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe and Stevie Nicks just days after Jessica Lange – who left the show after season 4 – was confirmed to be reprising her role as Constance Langdon.

Kathy Bates and Cheyenne Jackson will also be returning to the highly anticipated season alongside Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd and Adina Porter.

It’s also known that Dame Joan Collins will be joining the cast and this week Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and Kyle Allen will also be starring as guest roles in the new series.

The new series is set to be released on September 12 this year.

The show is set to return to our screens this September and with the return of all these brilliant actors we can safely say it is going to be an intense season.
