David Beckham will journey through the Amazon rainforest as part of a one-off BBC documentary.
He recently travelled to South America with three friends to discover the “real Brazil” for the programme.
The untitled 90-minute documentary will air on BBC One in June to coincide with the FIFA World Cup, which is being held in Brazil between June 12 and July 13.
Anthony Mandler directed the documentary, following Beckham and his friends as they camped and fished in the rainforest.
Helen Jackson, BBC Worldwide managing director, said: “This is an unforgettable documentary set in the heart of the dense Amazon rainforest following David Beckham.
“Through his eyes, audiences will experience life in the jungle, something so distant from David’s life on and off the pitch and in the glare of the world’s media.”
Becks will also star in a special Only Fools and Horses sketch for Sport Relief on Friday (March 21).
