The Try Guys and YouTube star Eugene Lee Yang has come out as gay in a powerful dance video.
Titled ‘I’m Gay’, the video – which is accompanied by music by ODESZA – shows Yang dancing in a family setting but when he goes to put on lipstick, he is slapped around his head.
Yang is then seen in a church congregation staring as the preacher rants. We then see his attracted to a male dancer.
However, despite the happy setting, a man walks in and points his finger at the dancers and Yang is later seen beaten and bloodied next to a dumpster.
The powerful video ends with him staring defiantly at the camera.
Writing on Twitter, he said: “I created this music video as my personal way of coming out as a proud gay man who has many unheard, specific stories to tell.
“I withheld because of fear and shame shaped by my background but I promise to give my full truth in the rest of my life’s work.”
