Disney drops first teaser trailer for Hocus Pocus 2

Disney has dropped the first official teaser trailer for the upcoming Hocus Pocus 2.

The trailer shows us Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy returning to reprise their roles as Winnifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson respectively.

Not much can be gleaned from this first tease of the long-awaited sequel to the 1993 classic, but what we do here is Midler’s Winnifred screech: “Lock up your children! Yes, Salem, we’re back!” before cackling as a true witch does.

A synopsis reads: “It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge.

“Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.”

The first film saw the Sanderson Sisters inadvertently resurrected by a teenage boy in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween night.

The sequel will see the same happen again and the child-hungry witches will once again have to be stopped from wreaking havoc.

In May a sneak peek of the film was shown at a Disney event which saw the three sisters singing Sir Elton John’s ‘The Bitch Is Back’ as well as Doug Jones’ return.

He will also be reprising his role from the original film of the zombie, Billy Butcherson.

Hocus Pocus 2 is set to arrive on Disney+ on 30 September 2022.
