Disney has officially bought Fox’s entertainment assets… Hello X-Men in the MCU

The giant conglomerate now owns the likes of 'Fantastic Four', 'X-Men' and 'Deadpool' as well as 'The Simpsons'

Disney has officially bought Fox’s entertainment assets… meaning one thing… Hello X-Men in the MCU!

The Disney Incorporation is taking over the world. First it bought LucasFilm, owning the rights to Star Wars, then Marvel Studios and now it has successful closed its $71 billion acquisition of Fox which means it now owns franchises including The Simpsons through to X-Men, Deadpool and James Cameron’s Avatar franchise.

Fans have speculated whether any of the iconic Marvel Comic book characters including Professor X, Wolverine, Magneto and Jean Grey would ever make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in some shape or form.

But as Fox owned the rights for the characters, it was more or less deemed impossible for them to ever appear in the MCU unless Marvel Studios team up with Fox like they did with Sony for Spider-Man.

However, it appears Disney has finally closed their acquisition meaning it is only a matter of time before the likes of the X-Men, Deadpool and the Fantastic Four will finally get a reboot worthy of the MCU.

Fox is set to release X-Men: Dark Phoenix later this year with James McAvoy, Sophie Turner and Michael Fassbender returning as Professor X, Jean Grey and Magneto respectively.

Fantastic Four really need the justice they deserve and considering the superheroes were created by the late, great Stan Lee, we hope the MCU will do them right for once.

We also hope we will see Iceman finally be the gay superhero we all are waiting for!

The studios were reportedly also working on Deadpool 3, and Gambit movies as well as New Mutants series. But the future of these is now up in the air.

But we cannot see Disney rebooting Deadpool… it really would not be a good move!

Ryan Reynolds – who stars as Deadpool aka Wade Wilson in the hit movies – joked about the acquisition and wrote on Twitter: “Feels like the first day of ‘Pool’.”
