Drag Race star Eureka checks into rehab and opens up about addiction battle

RuPaul’s Drag Race star Eureka has revealed that they have checked into rehab.

The star shared the news with fans in an emotion statement posted to Twitter yesterday.

After explaining that they’ve been in the facility for a week, they reassured fans that they’ll be back at work in Las Vegas next month.

“It’s been really hard to be honest about it”

In a tweet, Eureka said: “I’m in rehab. It was time for me to get my addiction and mental self under control.”

The 31-year-old continued: “I made this decision and it’s been really hard to be honest about it. I’m embarrassed! These are some of my first steps. I love you all so much!”

Sending hugs, Eureka!

In separate tweets, Eureka added: “I’ve been here over a week and already feel clearer and better. Will be back in Vegas mid-March! I’m so sorry and love you all!”

“I’m sorry to myself. Ya know? but really feeling the blessings.”

Drag Race UK‘s Divina De Campo was among those to offer their support, saying: “My gosh! Im sorry youre going through this but so glad that you have recognised it and are getting the help you need. Well done doll xxx [sic].”

Eureka appeared on the ninth and tenth seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race, followed by the sixth season of All Stars.

They also starred in HBO show We’re Here alongside Bob the Drag Queen and Shangela, which returns for a new season in April.
