Drag Race UK’s Joe Black reacts to his shock early exit from the competition
The Brighton cabaret legend spills the tea with Jodie Harsh on Attitude Tea Time, in association with TAIMI.

RuPaul’s Drag Race series two kicked off in epic style this week as 12 new queens sashayed into the workroom ready to emulate The Vivienne and be crowned the UK’s Next Drag Superstar.
Unfortunately, one queen has to be the first one out – and the judges left viewers well and truly shooketh when they opted to send possibly the series most high-profile queen, Brighton cabaret legend Joe Black, packing in week one.
After to impress RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and guest judge Elizabeth Hurley with her Brighton pavilion-inspired hometown look, Joe lost out in the lip sync to Bimini Bon Boulash – and now she’s spilling the tea about her time in the workroom in the first episode of Attitude Tea Time, in association with TAIMI, the LGBTQ+ Dating & Social Network.
“Glenn Close, but no cigar!” sighs Joe as she reflects on her time in the workroom and the outrage from fans with host Jodie Harsh. “I stayed up very late because I go a little bit addicted to social media – because the outpouring of love was incredible.”
Joe, 30, goes on to say that receiving shocked messages of support from Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer and Drag Race season 7 winner Violet Chachki were among his highlights of seeing the show go out on BBC Three.
And while his Brighton runway look may have been criticised by Hurley for not being from the ‘Regency period’, Joe admit’s he’d be happy to take it all day from the star of Bedazzled and Austin Powers.
“I mean, Liz Hurley’s pretty camp, isn’t she?” he laughs. “She coulda told me I was a piece of s**t and I would’ve gone, ‘Thanks Liz!'”
From what he’d have done differently during his time on the show to which of his series two sisters he’d choose to put on a drag show with, nothing is off-limits as Joe chats to Jodie on Tea Time in association with TAIMI.
