Drag Race UK’s Tia Kofi stuns in video for debut single ‘Outside In’
Baroness Basic? I don't think.

Tia Kofi may have been joking when she asked RuPaul whether he was “sure” he wanted her to sashay away from Drag Race UK series two last week, but the Emmy-winning TV host may well be having second thoughts after seeing the Clapham queen’s fierce new video for debut single ‘Outside In’.
Tia, who was famously voted ‘Baroness Basic’ by her fellow series two queens owning to her sometimes hodge-podge runway looks, is throwing off the shackles of that moniker as she serves high-end fashion diva in the neon-lit new video.
‘Outside In’, which sailed into the Top 30 on UK iTunes following its release last Friday (19 February), is a bona fide bop in its own right, co-written by pop stars Little Boots and Tom Aspaul as well Gil Lewis, who collaborated with SuRIe on the UK’s 2018 Eurovision Song Contest entry ‘Storms’.
Speaking to Attitude and Jodie Harsh on Tea Time in association with Taimi last week following her Drag Race UK elimination, Tia spoke of her excitement at getting to showcase herself as an artist outside of the workroom.
“I’m just very excited to have a song out and be able to creatively unleash something into the world”, the 30-year-old said.
“I know we’ve spoken about the aesthetics and that’s something that people weren’t, sort of, on board with, but this song and the video is just much more me being able to use my creativity and passion.”
Tia went on: “Tom Aspaul and Little Boots are just two icons. I’m literally, like, [it’s] the absolute gag of the century that this has is all sort of come together and like I get to have this moment of working with some incredible people.
“You know, I literally still have a Little Boots song in my setlist that I perform to in drag.
“So to have that moment of actually having a conversation with someone that I’ve like listened to and like fully look up to, I’m like, ‘Amazing’.”
