Drag Race UK’s Veronica Green has said she is taking a “much needed” break from social media.
The contestant from the second and third series of the show said on Friday (5 November) she has been going through a tough time but was beginning to emerge from it.
She’s previously been open about the impact contracting COVID-19 has had on her and the difficulty she had in getting ready to do Drag Race UK series three.
“Here’s to the future”
Responding to one Twitter user who wondered if Veronica was OK, the Lancashire queen replied saying: “Hi my lovelies. Yes I’m all good. Just taking a much needed social media break.
“It’s hard to describe the pressure of being in the public eye while you’re going through tough times, but I’m happy to report I’m finally coming out the other side. Here’s to the future.”

Last month Veronica opened up about falling into debt and depression after dropping out of the show’s second series due to COVID.
In a Twitter statement, she described it as “the darkest time,” but was given hope by the invitation to come onto Drag Race UK S3.
She said: “In retrospect I shouldn’t have accepted Ru’s invitation to season three. At the time I was under so much pressure with season two just being announced was just thrust into a worldwide spotlight & wasn’t prepared for season three.”
But she remained optimistic saying: “I’m a fighter that never gives up. No matter how many times I get knocked down I’ll just keep getting back up again, bigger and better than before!”
