Duncan James: ‘I could still easily sleep with a woman’

Duncan James has spoken about his sexuality, saying that he could “still easily sleep with a woman”, despite identifying as a gay man.

The Blue star revealed that he was bisexual, but later said that he considers himself to be gay.

Speaking to Gay Star News, he said: “I think to myself, I sleep with men, so that makes me gay. Regardless of whether I sleep with women or not, I’m still sleeping with men so I’m gay.

“So I’m still attracted to women, I could still easily sleep with a woman. I haven’t in the last couple of years but I think if I meet a girl I could still have a relationship with her.”

He explained that it was “easier” to say he was bisexual rather than gay when he came out five years ago.

“Don’t get me wrong, I think people can be bisexual,” he said. “When I came out as bisexual at the time, it was just easier to use the word.

“I do say I’m gay, but I don’t really care about labels. I don’t really care if people want to call me bisexual or gay.”

Duncan’s Blue bandmate Lee Ryan has also addressed speculation about his sexuality this week.

Following claims from his ex-girlfriend Jasmine Waltz that he cheated on her with a man, Lee said: “I don’t care if people think I’m gay, why would I care? I would be proud. Sexuality doesn’t need to be defended or justified.”
