Eastenders’ Ben and Paul to be caught in the act
By Will Stroude
It’s been a summer of secret same-sex romance for Eastenders’ Ben Mitchell (Harry Reid) and Paul Coker (Jonny Labey), but that undercover bliss looks set to come crashing down next week as Ben’s father, Walford hard man Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) catches the pair in the act.
The secret lovers – who were almost caught in a clinch during those controversial funeral parlour sex scenes a couple of months back – are set to get it on in the car lot office when they’re walked in on by Phil, who’s yet discover that his son is gay.
Ben’s sexuality has been an ongoing storyline for several years now, but fear of his family’s reaction has kept him in the closet and prompted him to embark on a relationship with Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald), who is unaware that her boyfriend is secretly gay.
As a stunned Phil looks on, a red-faced Ben and Paul are left scrambling to their clothes back on – but viewers will have to wait to find out whether his reaction is everything Ben has feared.
You’ll be able to see these scenes in EastEnders on Friday October 2 at 8pm on BBC One.
