Emmerdale stars Max Parker and Kris Mochrie have announced they are engaged.
The actors, who played on-screen brothers Luke and Lee Posner on the ITV soap, shared images and footage of Parker’s stunning beachfront proposal on Instagram over the weekend.
Parker posted a gallery of pictures – including one of the husbands-to-be kissing and a clip of the touching moment he popped the question – to Instagram, writing: “He deserves the world, but the best I could do was promise him my heart. HE SAID YES! Happiest moment of my life. @krismoc my Fiancé.”
Sharing a snap to his own Instagram page, Mochrie, 37, revealed he had no idea the proposal was coming and that Parker had used a locket owned by Mochrie’s grandmother to make part of the engagement ring.

“The beautiful soul that is my best friend asked me to marry him yesterday. I can’t begin to describe how happy I am”, began Mochrie.
“I love him beyond words, we laugh every single day and I’m so so grateful that he came in to my life.
“I had no idea at all! But it was just perfect… I mean this film says it all. Max had asked my Mum for any jewellery that my Gran had. Mum still had my Grans locket and he has had it made in to the middle of the engagement ring on the inside. So so special.”
He added: “Thank you to the job that brought us together, our incredible family and friends. And the amazing love from you all. I’m a very lucky boy.

“WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!”
Parker and Mochrie met on the set of Emmerdale in 2019, and subsequent tabloid coverage of their relationship effectively outed Parker publicly.
Speaking exclusively to Attitude in December 2020, the actor explained that the media attention had forced him to come out to his grandparents before he was ready, but that he was “excited” about what the future held.
Recalling how and his now-fiancé met on the set of Emmerdale, Parker said at the time: “I didn’t know [Kris] was gay but I remember thinking he’s very handsome. It was later I thought ‘I’ve never done Tinder so I’ll have a go’, so I went on Tinder and I saw him pop up, and I was like ‘OK this is a sign’ – so I made the first move by sending a message on Instagram.”

The TV star continued: “It’s good when it’s a surprise. I didn’t know he was gay and I didn’t know that he would fancy me, but then he did…
“We’re quite similar – obviously we played brothers in the show so we’re similar like that, but we’re quite similar in our stories as well. It’s really nice, all of his family are really close so he’s quite similar to me in that he’s had support from all of them.”
