‘Emmerdale’ teases new gay storyline for Aaron and Robert
By Sam Rigby
has teased a new gay storyline for Aaron Livesey (Danny Miller).
The out gay mechanic – who came out in a high profile storyline in 2009 – catches the eye of Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), who recently returned to the village with his fiancée Chrissie White.
After rowing with Chrissie about his flirtatious behaviour with Leyla, he storms out and pulls over in a lay-by in his car. Claiming he has broken down, he calls Aaron to come and fix the problem, but when he arrives it is clear that he had a different motive for getting him to come.
Robert kisses Aaron, but immediately regrets it and drives away. However, he finds it difficult to control his feelings and the pair kiss again later.
The scenes will air on the ITV soap a week on Thursday (December 4).
Miller returned to the role of Aaron in the summer, following a two-year absence. His performance during Aaron’s coming out storyline earned him numerous awards, including three consecutive Best Actor prizes at the British Soap Awards.
