In an age of Sam Smiths, Troye Sivans Olly Alexanders, popular music is a pretty liberated, gay place. But sometimes it falls back on the older generation to take it up a peg or two.
After almost a decade away, US electro duo Fischerspooner are back with a brand new single and accompanying music video that’s sure to make your granny blush.
‘TopBrazil’ is a sharp, sexy new track that celebrates queer sexuality in the most overt terms we’ve seen in a fair old while (the UK Top 40 could do with more tracks that include “take it” as a spoken aside frankly).
You’ll be pleased to know that the video doesn’t shy away from depciting gay sexuality either, with more male flesh on display than a Barcelona circuit party.
“The video celebrates a pop aesthetic typically reserved for the female archetype and liberates the male form to be sexual, expressive and fearless,” says frontman Casey Spooner.
“It embodies the album’s resistant narrative as an overtly queer and celebratory body of work in response to the current atmosphere in America.”
Well, at least we’ve got something to thank Trump for.
